Mark Dobbin ACS

Mark Dobbin is an award-winning freelance Director of Photography with more than 30 years’ experience filming around the world.  Currently based in Thailand, Mark’s craft as a cameraman has seen him based in Australia, the United Kingdom, London, and China. He has wide experience in all genres of television but shines with  long form documentaries.  He has earned accolades for his work in the cut-and-thrust world of  breaking news and is also renowned as an editor. The highlights of his experience include filming the Beijing Olympics, Chengdu Earthquake, the Japanese Tsunami and the 2008 Obama Presidential elections. In recent years he has travelled on assignment to Easter Island, Madagascar , East Timor , Mongolia , Japan and North Korea. Mark has his own camera kit and equipment and is familiar with all formats. His awards cabinet includes the Quill award for best camerawork in 2004 and The Golden Tripod for camerawork at the ACS awards in 2013 for the 101 East Documentary "Battling the Yakuza" and in 2014 was awarded his ACS letters from the Australian Cinematography Society.  In 2017 Mark was based once again in London working for NBC Universal for two years. Mark was lead DP on the award winning Documentary, HopeFrozen.
