Mark Dobbin ACS

Mark Dobbin is an award-winning freelance Director of Photography with more than 30 years’ experience filming around the world. Currently based in Tasmania, Mark’s craft as a cameraman has seen him based in the United Kingdom, China and Thailand. He has wide experience in all genres of television but shines with long form documentaries.  He has earned accolades for his work in the cut-and-thrust world of  breaking news and is also renowned as an editor. The highlights of his experience include filming the Chengdu Earthquake, the Japanese Tsunami and the 2008 Obama Presidential elections to name a few. In recent years, Mark has embarked on assignments that have taken him to captivating destinations like Easter Island, Madagascar, East Timor, Mongolia, Japan, and North Korea. Armed with his personal camera kit and extensive knowledge of multiple formats, Mark consistently delivers top-tier results. His awards cabinet includes the Quill award for best camerawork in 2004 and The Golden Tripod for camerawork at the ACS awards in 2013 for the 101 East Documentary "Battling the Yakuza" and in 2014 was awarded his ACS letters from the Australian Cinematography Society. Mark was lead DP on the Emmy award winning Documentary, HopeFrozen. In the last year Mark has moved into operating on two feature films, “the Kiss of The Con Queen” and “Take my Hand”
